Which Underfloor Heating System?
Deciding which underfloor heating system to choose. CU Heating products are suitable for many floor types and can be used in almost any room. To ensure that you get the most from your installation, we have developed a range of different systems, and which you choose depends on the room shape, the floor covering and the kind of sub-floor on which it will be set. In many cases, our CUmat system will be the ideal choice, particularly for rooms that are relatively simple in shape. The mats come in two different power outputs 160W/m for use with concrete, stone or tile to produce a warm comfort heat, they can also be places on wood floor bases apart from chip board, and 200W/m for use with concrete, stone or tile for primary heating. For more complex shapes and smaller rooms with curved or sharply angled walls, CUcable is usually the more practical option, since it can be wound easily around upstands and other obstacles. Depending on your requirements, the spacing between the cables can be varied to change the output of the system from anything between100w/m2 to 200w/m2. Another important factor is insulation, which can have a significant bearing on the efficiency of the finished system. A properly insulated floor will reduce heat loss very dramatically down from 30% without the insulation boards to 5% heat loss and, by improving the efficiency of the heating system, ensures that it becomes more cost effective to operate.
