Timber Sub-Floor Prior to installation, always ensure that the substrate is sound: ensure that any loose boards are firmly affixed and, where necessary, reinforce to prevent movement which might cause tiles to crack. Reinforcement can be achieved by covering the floor with our PCS CU construction board or 18mm WBP plywood. Concrete Sub-Floor Prior to installation, repair any imperfections in the concrete surface and level the floor using suitable building materials. Clean the resulting surface to remove dust, dirt, grease or oil marks.Concrete surfaces should be primed with a PVA prior the the installation of our CUmat 160w/m for comfort heating, or 200w/m for primary heating under tiles. Fitting our 10mm PCS CU Construction boards to the concrete sub-floor, will inprove the heating efficiency and reduce running costs. Bituminous Flooring In cases where bitumen has been used – a flexible latex leveling compound must be used as a barrier between the bitumen and the heating system.
